The McLean house. This is where Lee surrendered to Grant and they ended the civil war.

A nice historic site! We learned a lot about the end of the war. Many things they never taught in school. Appomattox Court House is the name of the town, not a building. In fact, there isn’t really even a court house here!

We ran into a union soldier at the tavern.

We heard his story about the war and how he stayed in the south as a lawmaker.
