Congaree National Park, SC

One of the less traveled parks. It is an old groth forest with Cyprus trees, Loplolly Pones, and other dense vegetation. It was very swampy and felt like the deep dark woods out of a fairy tale.

We did a 2.7 mile walk. There was a boardwalk the whole way!

The trees have “knuckles”- roots that grow above the ground. It makes the forest floor look ominous!
